The School achieved the Basic Skills Quality Mark in April 2006 and the ICT Mark for high standards in ICT and a commitment to continual improvement through ICT in March 2007.
Our Aims We
wish to: provide an environment which promotes a welcoming atmosphere in all areas of the school for pupils, teachers, parents and visitors from both inside and outside the community. provide stimulating and challenging learning experiences through a well planned curriculum (which takes into account the individuality of each child), in a warm and caring environment. We will also provide continuity and progression with differentiation to cater for children with Special Educational Needs. nurture and promote the values of self-discipline, mutual respect for persons and property, tolerance and understanding. We will foster good relationships between pupils, teachers, Governors, Parents and all adults working in/with the school as well as in our links with the Community. ensure equal opportunity for all pupils in all areas of school life whatever their culture, gender, social background or ability. ensure equal opportunity for all staff members and to promote the idea of a 'team' working together in an atmosphere which encourages exchange of ideas, mutual support, personal professional development, as well as development for the benefit of the school and 'team'. maintain a partnership approach to monitoring and evaluation of all aspects of the school's work. provide a good quality education for all pupils by ensuring that the professional commitment of the Staff Team is supported by the provision of the best possible resources. engender a feeling of mutual ownership between the school and the Community. We wish to be respected as a caring establishment which provides a high quality, balanced education for its pupils teamed with a comprehensive range of well managed Before and After School Clubs to extend the learning opportunities. support the City and County of Swansea philosophy of 'Life Long Learning' and wish to extend the use of our school for Pre-school Nursery Childcare, Adult Education Classes and Community Based learning outside school hours. We believe that parents have a vital role to play in the education of their child and will encourage parental involvement on a variety of levels in different situations. Our Home/School Agreement, Open Door Policy, Homework Policy, Information brochures/sheets, newsletters and Meetings for parents will support the home/school communication process, which we believe to be vital in a successful school. |
