Grange Primary
School
is situated in a catchment area which comprises both private and council
house properties and lies approximately four miles to the West of the
City of Swansea. It is within walking distance of the beautiful village
of Mumbles. A high percentage of our pupils (approximately 60%) choose
to come to our school via a 'preferred placement request'.

Grange Primary provides:
approximately 200 pupil places
*14 planned places in a Specialist Teaching Facility for children who
have hearing impairment and additional provision in mainstream classes
for pupils with Speech and Language difficulties
*part time Nursery provision in a.m./p.m. sessions
*mixed ability single or combined age range classes are grouped chronologically
*excellent spacious and well resourced teaching/general purpose areas
*extensive grounds which include a sports field, woodland trail, pond
nature reserve, outdoor adventure play area and undulating lawns with
picnic areas
*all classrooms are fully carpeted and decorated to a high standard
with patio areas, interactive whiteboards and internet connections,
*additional teaching areas are equipped for I.C.T. , support teaching
and speech therapy
*exceptionally large main hall which includes a stage, fronted by a
proscenium arch and apron complete with full stage lighting and sound
systems
*separate dining hall served by a kitchen
*library used by pupils and parents
*pre-school private Nursery from age 2 years upwards
*before and after school child care clubs
*a wide range of lunchtime and afterschool educational clubs
*specialist tuition for pupils who wish to learn to play violin, cello,
flute or clarinet
Grange Primary has
a team of 30 Staff managed by our Headteacher Mrs. N. Martell (B.Ed.
Hons).
Accessibility
*The school has an Accessibility Policy and Plan and is currently able
to make the whole school accessible for wheelchair users, with the exception
of the dining room by using external patio doors or side entrances combined
with lightweight portable ramps.
*The main entrance, infant classroom for hearing impaired pupils, pupil
toilet areas, Early Years classrooms (with outdoor play area) and main
hall are accessible via the main entrance which is ramped for wheelchair
users.
*The main school playground is not able to be accessed by wheelchair
users but an alternative play area is available.
*A disabled toilet/shower/changing/first aid area is located adjacent
to the main hall.
*The fire alarm system has been adapted for H.I. pupils within the two
specialist teaching areas.
*A high staff:pupil ratio ensures the health & safety and access
to the full curriculum for all our pupils
