Grange School
About our school - Extra-Curricular Activities

We provide a wide range of out of school hours clubs, extra curricular activities and lunchtime sessions for our pupils thus extending their learning and leisure activities outside curriculum time. The school actively supports the City and County Policy for Life Long Learning by opening its doors to the Community hosting a wide range of Adult Education Evening Classes in liaison with Swansea College.

Our additional childcare facilities in the form of 'Before and After School Kids Club' (for R to Y6 pupils) and 'Playtots Private Nursery' (for 2yrs upwards) provide the parents of Grange and the Community with a well organised and highly valued service during term time. Privately run by Mrs. Ruby Spinner within our school environment which is familiar to the children, it offers parents a really flexible option for childcare between 7.45a.m. - 8.45a.m. and/or 3.30p.m. - 5.30p.m. Playtots Nursery provides childcare for children aged 2yrs upwards for sessions of up to 4 hours per day.

Your child could attend Playtots prior to admission to our School Nursery and/or could attend the School Nursery during the morning/afternoon session and transfer to Playtots for the other session thus providing a full day combining Nursery and childcare options in the same building. For further details and to register your child please contact Mrs. Ruby Spinner on 405527.

Our school is fortunate in having such a committed Staff and parent body who give so generously of their freetime to work with the children. We also enjoy the support of a number of nationally recognised organisations who help us to maintain an exciting range or 'extra curricular activities'.

Each member of Staff is responsible for informing the pupils and parents of the arrangements for classes, practices and games. It is sometimes difficult to ensure that every pupil takes home the correct information but it would be quite impossible to communicate every detail by letter therefore your co-operation in this matter is vital. Please encourage your child to keep you informed of the arrangements. Regular reminders are given to the children by all Staff concerned and any major changes in routine are often communicated by letter.
